Sydney newspapers along with the NSW Law enforcement noted at some time that the fire was due to an electrical fault. A contemporaneous coronial inquest was not able to determine the reason for the fire, but concluded that Luna Park's supervisors and operators experienced failed inside their responsibility of care in direction of the park's patrons
